My approach
Every student learns differently, and every musician has a unique reason for wanting to play. My lessons are built around the belief that music should be engaging, creative, and personally meaningful. Rather than following a rigid curriculum, I focus on helping students learn through the music that inspires them.
☻
Personalized
The music that excites you is the music you'll come back to. While I grew up studying both classical and contemporary music, I found that the songs I genuinely connected with were what kept me motivated to practice and improve. That's why lessons begin with your musical interests.
❋
Music Theory
Music theory is an incredibly valuable tool, but it shouldn't feel disconnected from the music you're playing. Instead of treating theory as a separate subject, I introduce new concepts through the songs and styles you're already learning.
✦
Ear Training
One of the most valuable skills any musician can develop is the ability to listen. Throughout each lesson, we'll work on developing your ear alongside your technical skills so you become a more confident and independent musician.
✿
Collaborative
My goal is to help students build not only the skills to play an instrument, but also the confidence to create, collaborate with others, and connect through music.
How Lessons Work
Getting started is simple. Every student begins with a free consultation to discuss musical goals, experience level, scheduling, and the type of music they'd like to learn. From there, we'll find a consistent weekly lesson time and create a personalized learning plan designed around your interests.
Consultation
Every student begins with a complimentary 15–20 minute phone call. This gives us an opportunity to discuss your musical background, goals, scheduling, and answer any questions before your first lesson.
Weekly Lesson
Lessons are one hour and take place once each week at your home or online. Every lesson is personalized to your goals and experience level, with a consistent schedule.
Tuition
Lessons are billed monthly rather than individually. Monthly tuition reserves your weekly lesson time and provides consistency for both student and teacher throughout the year.
Materials
Every student receives personalized physical and digital learning materials, including written music, chord charts, tablature, scale sheets, technique exercises.
